The goal of this project is to create and publish a notebook which records the reflections of six dancers on gesture, self-expression and movement composition, made over the initial creation phase of dance work “Realignments”.

in 2020, dancer and choreographer Blanca Arrieta was invited to create a work as part of a choreographic exchange program between Dantzaz Company (Guipuzkoa, Spain) and Plesni Teater PTL (Ljubljana, Slovenia). Her artistic proposal, "Realignments", was conceived especially for the residency, and developed in close collaboration with dancers Alja Branc, Patricija Crnkovič, Lara Matea Ivančič, Ema Križič, Luka Ostrež and Julija Pečnikar.

Due to unique circumstances surrounding the creation process, the work unfolded remotely via online meetings and video interactions. The methodology involved the sharing, reflecting on, and studying of chosen artistic materials, common physical tasks, feedbacks and reviews. At times with a view to stimulate group conversation, or to raise and resolve common problems.

The fundaments evolved naturally into the generation of individual movement scores and sequences, which where later used as core material for a live-streamed video version of the work.

Notes, reflections and drawings generated during the first two weeks of the residency will be documented in this notebook in their order of occurrence during the creative process. In addition, visual artist Leire Llano has created six series of illustrations to introduce the artistic material.
