"Breath"

"Breath" explores the limits of the body, voice, and space as materials in constant transformation. An obsessive process of refining and reduction, where every gesture, every sound, every movement is examined, reduced, and re-examined in an endless cycle of possible variations and relationships.

Actions and gestures are repeated, refined, stripped of all ornamentation, until they become almost imperceptible. Paradoxically, the more one seeks purity of movement, minimal expression, the more unattainable it becomes.

It is not about arriving, but about insisting on proceeding. There is no finished work, only the gesture of beginning again. We will find no resolution, only the constant ritual of seeking and not arriving. This piece is an exercise of resistance, a reminder that the unfinished is the only truly possible state.

A series of drawings accompanies the exploration of movement. Sketches made during the process that function simultaneously as studies on live creation and as graphic scores for the choreographic composition of body and voice.
